Curriculum KCSD's Core Learning Goals
The “core learning goals” in language arts, mathematics, social studies and science were created from our standards based curricula. The purposes of the goals are for:
-
Parents to know what their children are to learn in each grade level.
With this knowledge parents can support their child’s learning. The goals will focus parents’ and teachers’ communications about how the child is progressing in school. - Students to know what they are to learn in each grade level.
- Professional staff to make the goals the core of their teaching and the students’ learning experiences. Increasingly, district and classroom assessments will measure how students are performing on these goals.
