Each elementary school is divided into three sections for instruction, and teachers at each grade are responsible for working together for the instruction of all students at that particular level. Team leaders are responsible for the planning and instructional performance of each team, and the building principal is responsible for the overall operation of the teams.
The Primary Team consists of grades kindergarten and first; the Intermediate Team, grades two and three, and the Upper Team, grades four and five. To meet the individual needs of each child, grouping for instructional purposes is flexible so that provisions can be made for the needs of the slow learner, the underachiever, and the gifted.
Specialists in music, art, and physical education work closely with all teams. The media center also serves as a vital coordinating center of the learning process and provides written, visual, and audio media for student use.
